From Lille to Besançon, then Paris, Lausanne and Nyon, this trajectory reflects a single continuous progression: learning surgery, practising it, developing areas of expertise, and today taking part in passing that knowledge on.

A surgical path built progressively, between France and Switzerland.
Lille — The early years of medicine
1997–2002
Dr Pierre Fournier began his medical studies at the Faculté Libre de Médecine in Lille. These early years laid the foundation of his medical training, ahead of his move towards surgery.
Besançon — Learning surgery
2002–2009
His path continued at the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, with hospital and surgical training as a hospital resident (interne des hôpitaux).
This period allowed the progressive acquisition of the fundamentals of general surgery, then of visceral surgery.
Paris — Clinical practice, university and teaching
2009–2013
Dr Pierre Fournier continued his path in Paris as Chef de Clinique at the Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Paris and as a University Hospital Practitioner at Université Paris Diderot.
This period combined clinical activity, surgery and university teaching. It marked an important step in the transition from training to passing on knowledge.
Lausanne — Continuing university experience in Switzerland
2013–2017
His path continued in Switzerland as Chef de Clinique at the University of Lausanne. This step extended the university hospital experience gained in France into a new medical and surgical environment.
His path also included a subsequent role within the Department of Visceral Surgery at the CHUV. Former accredited physician, Department of Visceral Surgery, CHUV.
Nyon — A surgical practice rooted in La Côte
Since 2017, Dr Pierre Fournier’s practice has developed at the GHOL – Hôpital de Nyon, alongside his consultation activity at the practice in the Corjon building.
His practice covers in particular general and visceral surgery, digestive surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and the surgical management of obesity.

Dr Pierre Fournier takes part in training surgeons on Medtronic’s Hugo™ RAS platform.
